Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Amy Lin has been with Vision Dynamics Optometry since 2002. She was actively involved in research at UC Berkeley to ensure the safety of Ortho K, and has successfully fit Ortho-K and specialty contact lens patients over the last 15 years. Dr. Lin’s passion for preventative eyecare began when she was 10 and was working as frame stylist in optical since she was 16. Her work experience includes seeing patients at Hickam Airforce Base in Hawaii, Pacific Eye Associates of San Francisco, and Fresno VA. Her priority is to provide top tier comprehensive health care and preventative children’s vision, where she makes it a priority to incorporate all aspects of your health, visual, and health needs. She has 3 children attending local schools , 1 husky, 1 kitty, and a guinea pig who sings, and in her “free time”, she volunteers to educate the public and mentors pre-health students.

Dr. Stephanie Lew completed her optometric training at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis Tennessee and earned her BS in Genetics at UC Davis. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association as well as the local Alameda Contra Costa County Optometry Society. She has experience working in both ophthalmology (general ophthalmology as well as with a glaucoma specialist) and primary eye care private practices. Clinically, she strives to give each of her patients a fun and informative experience while ensuring optimal vision and health. Dr. Lew enjoys the challenge of ocular disease and the satisfaction of successful contact lens fittings. She takes particular pride in answering all her patients’ questions and explaining to them their current ocular health/visual status. Dr. Lew lives in Concord with her husband and cat and spends most of her spare time cooking, shopping, and taking pictures of the cat.
Dr Russell Cotteral is a 3rd generation resident of the East Bay area (Berkeley – Lafayette) and has over 30 years of experience in the field of vision care, both private practice and hospital-based. He enjoys all facets of patient care, from specialty contact-lens fitting to urgent-care to frame-styling and solving unusual ergonomic challenges and occupational requirements. He has built a successful practice in Kensington, where he is known for careful attention to detail, and has decided to sell that practice to a younger owner.
Dr Cotteral is also passionate about emerging technologies that involve vision, such as novel visual displays, including worn and “heads-up”. Augmented reality and immersive computing is a field that has captured his imagination over the last 5 years, and he aspires to playing a key role in the development of the next generation of smartphone displays.
In his free time, Russell enjoys hiking, travel, bicycling, yoga, playing the cello and spending time with his family, including 2 adult children, his wife Gesine and their dog Bella.
